Al-Bayan Center for Studies and Planning held the second discussion session on 14 September on the occasion of World Democracy Day, entitled: “Social Democracy is the Basis for building democratic systems”.
The session dealing with the successes and failures that the democratic system faced in Iraq after two decades.
The session focused on the role of social democracy in building stable democratic systems. Participants discussed the challenges facing Iraq in building its democratic system, focusing on the role of women in the political process human rights, and fundamental freedoms.
The session was attended by journalists, media, activists, represinitiatives of civil society organizations, political actors, and representatives of emerging parties.
