The Director of Research and Studies at Al-Bayan Center, Mr. Mustafa Al-Saray, received the head of the Women, Family, and Children Committee in the Iraqi Parliament, Ms. Dunya Al-Shammari, to discuss the situation of Iraqi women and the challenges they face. During the meeting, Al-Shammari addressed many important issues, especially concerning domestic violence law and child protection. For her part, the researcher in the center’s women’s section, Hayam Ali Al-Marhaj, stressed the most important challenges facing women in the labor market, official and private departments, as well as some issues related to the lack of justice in dealing with women in the job market. Al-Shammari praised the role of Al-Bayan Center in supporting Iraqi women through its studies, research, and initiatives, stressing the importance of cooperation between various parties to promote women’s rights and improve their conditions.
