Within the framework of the project to promote justice in Iraq, Al-Bayan Center for Planning and Studies held the final session of the policy paper titled: “Commercial Arbitration in Iraq: Reality and Future Prospects.” The session was held with the participation of several experts to discuss a policy paper by researcher Dr. Ali Da’adoush, where they discussed the contents of the policy paper, which addressed the importance of commercial arbitration as an alternative mechanism for resolving commercial disputes, its economic dimensions, as well as the current legal framework for commercial arbitration in Iraq. The participants emphasized “the importance of enhancing the role of commercial arbitration in Iraq by enacting supportive legislation, developing infrastructure, and training specialized cadres.” The session concluded with a discussion among the experts to express their views and suggestions on the paper, which ended with a set of recommendations to develop support mechanisms commensurate with the needs of these projects.
