    Manifestations of academic liberties. Practice and standards in Iraqi universities

    The summary:

    The research aims to determine the degree to which academic freedoms are exercised at the university. It aims at differences in the degree to which academic freedoms are exercised at the university, which are attributable to variables that have an impact on the realization of the concept of academic freedom, namely (scientific title), (gender), (faculty specialization) and (years of teaching experience). To achieve the objectives of the research, the researcher was briefed on previous literature and studies, and the researcher identified the descriptive method of research. The researcher conducted a survey consisting of a number of questions for a number of university teachers in open and closed type questionnaire. analyzed the responses of members of the reconnaissance sample; The research tool was built, designed, and composed of 30 paragraphs in four fields (freedom of expression, freedom of teaching, freedom of participation in academic decision-making, freedom of scientific research), according to the 5-point Likert scale. The degree of exercise is determined by the faculty member. The scores are as follows:

    Very weak (1), low (2), medium (3), high (4), very high (5). the questionnaire’s greatest score will be (150) and (30) will be the lowest score possible, and the hypothetical medium (90). The researcher identified the research community of state university professors in Iraq and identified the research sample of four university professors from (the university of Mosul, Iraqi university, university of Diyala, and the University of Maysan). The research sample was 120 in terms of their scientific and humanitarian specialties, years of teaching experience, and various scientific titles. This variety of variables has been taken into account to suit research objectives.
