A working group established by the Commission of Integrity met on Thursday September 27 at Al-Bayan Center to discuss devising a framework of indicators to classify and assess the work of think tanks and research institutes in Iraq.
The working group – which includes representatives from the Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Planning, the Board of Supreme Audit, in addition to Al-Bayan Center and other research institutes – discussed various assessment criteria that could be adopted as part of a comprehensive framework to assess the quality and impact of the work of local think tanks. The framework includes establishing expert committees and drawing on the views of the general public.
Al-Bayan Center will continue to host the working group for successive meetings that will include establishing lines of communication with other research institutes in the country.
