Al-Bayan Center hosted the Spanish ambassador to Iraq, Hansi Escobar, for a wide-ranging discussion about current developments in the country and the role of think tanks in advancing policymaking. Head of research, Ali Al-Mawlawi, discussed the work of the Center and highlighted some of the most important aspects of economic and institutional reform that are needed to address the country’s needs.
Ambassador Escobar discussed some of the challenges facing Iraq in the post-ISIS period including managing the country’s rising population, and emphasised the importance of greater dialogue between the international community and Iraqi think tanks.
Al-Bayan Center works to advance public policy in Iraq by engaging with experts and practitioners in order to address the country’s most pressing developmental needs.
