Sheikh Abdul Mehdi Al-Karbalaei
My brothers, my sisters…
I bring to your attention the following two matters:-
First Matter:
The blood (sacrifice) of the martyrs has been and remains the prime role in the defense of Iraq and its people and their sanctities, and the preservation of its unity and the protection of the honour of its people. Their sacrifices continue to ward off the evils of terrorists and their intentions against us, that plan to deform the national identity and tear apart its social cohesion. Martyrs have favoured the Iraqi people of all factions and classes and its components. Martyrs bear great sincerity in their efforts. Therefore, caring for their orphaned children, and his family, and providing them with a decent living with all their rights is the least to be done in honour of their precious blood and pure spirits. It is a mighty responsibility of all; whether the various government components and its institutions, or other charities and humanitarian organisations. Rather, it is a duty upon all who are capable to fulfil, even if in some of its aspects, to not fall short in offering them with what they righteously deserve. Divine Providence to the families of martyrs has reached a level that The Divine has called Himself carer of the martyr and his family, as narrated in some holy Hadiths as:
(Whomsoever satisfied them has Satisfied Me; and whomsoever dissatisfies them has dissatisfied Me)
Holy sayings as such bind us all to devote to the rights of martys and their families, reserving their dignities, and complete their moral and financial rights.
However, it is unfortunate in what we hear in many complaints from families of martyrs in complexities of the procedures of some government institutions in completing their work and receiving their rights and getting paid. Additionally, sometimes we witness the impact of family and tribal differences in completing an application, as some relatives of a martyr may insist on withholding some official documents from the wife and children for private purposes hindering their efforts in receiving some of their rights. All of this is not worthy of the status of a martyr in his sacrifices and what he offered in order to save the country and its people.
Hence, from here we stress once again and call on the relevant authorities to exert utmost efforts to facilitate applications of the families of martyrs and simplify their procedures. We also call on the relatives and families of the martyrs to be supportive and help their families and their orphans and their wives in receiving their rights and offer them a helping hand, no matter how minute their offers may be. We ask them to embrace them and care for them financially and morally, so as to not sense them with the loss of their carer and breadwinner, for in such actions there are great rewards and countless worldly benefits.
Second matter:
At a time when the battlefields are witnessing consecutive victories for our Armed Forces supported by volunteers and fighters of real Iraqi tribes; most recently by what the heroic fighters achieved in liberating most of the city of Ramadi, Anbar province, the various forces and Iraqi parties who care for the future of this country and seek to rid it of its current crises and endeavour to provide a decent living for all its citizens in peace and security with the preservation of its territorial integrity, are called to intensify their efforts to reach an agreement on an integrated national plan will lead to the liberalisation of the remaining parts that remain under the atrocious control of ISIS terrorists, away from some of the local, regional and international conspiracies, that aim in the end to divide the country and turn it into rivalry states that remain in long run conflicts.
The salvation of Iraq and overcome its current difficult situations cannot be achieved by other than the Iraqis themselves. Inevitably, if they do not concentrate on the supreme interests of their country, overlooking personal, sectional and territorial interests, other regional and international parties will take in their interests and benefits over the country which may not necessarily coincide with the benefits of Iraq; let this be taken into account of everyone.
May The Almighty help us all in whatever bears benefits to our country and our people.
